After a week with no games there’s a big weekend in store for the Rocks, with a two key games lined up as they look to shake off an inconsistent start to the season.
Tomorrow the team travel to Sheffield to face the struggling Sharks in a key BBL Cup Quarter-Final tie that sees the winner progress to the semis to face either London Lions or Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders.
The Sharks – notorious BBL Cup specialists and so often the Rocks’ bogey team – have taken just one win from their first six league games this season, but with back-court talent like Gage Daye and Micah Williams and an established BBL core they certainly can’t be underestimated – especially in a Cup game.
Coach Davis is certainly putting a huge emphasis on the game, saying “we want to be in the race for everything we can this season and this is our first chance.”
On Sunday we welcome the Sky Sports cameras to the Emirates when we face the Worcester Wolves in a key BBL Championship fixture.
The Wolves have posted a 5-4 record thus far in the BBL Championship, but are still missing point-guard Sherrad Prezzie-Blue. New addition Alex Owumi has been in devastating form, and Paul James will have his team organised and tough to beat.
“I think they are really solid team with incredible size. They are pretty balanced right now and I feel will get better as the season goes along,” said Sterling.
We’re expecting another bumper crowd for the Sky cameras, helping cheer the team to victory. Get your tickets here if you haven’t already.
