Birmingham Knights 75 (12,32,40) (Benson 19, Izevbigie 15, Gayle 13)
Glasgow Rocks 96 (27,42,73) (Johnson 22, Murray 15, Urli 15)
The Rocks enjoyed a Saturday Knight takeaway in Birmingham, handing the Knights their 27th loss of the season with a convincing 96-75 win.
The hosts fell behind early, as Rocks shot ahead to a 16-5 lead, before Brent Benson brought it back to single digits with a three-pointer.
The visitors from Glasgow pulled way in the second period, taking an 18-point lead at 36-18, but Knights finished the half with a 14-6 stretch to cut the deficit to a manageable 42-32 at the break.
However, the guests started the third quarter with a 19-2 run running away to a 61-34 advantage halfway through the period, increasing the gap to 73-40 before the start of the final quarter.
Although Knights managed to cut the gap in the final quarter, with Rocks’ second unit on the floor, it was a case of too little, too late, as the visitors sailed to an easy win.
Chris Johnson led all scorers with a game-high 22 points, with Gareth Murray and Fran Urli adding 15 points apiece.
Knights relied on Brent Benson for the scoring, as the guard paced the hosts with 19 points, Glen Izevbigie chipped in with 15 points, while Mike Gayle finished the game with 13.
