(SLATE:  Issue 8, Play-off Edition - April 10/11)

Thank You...

The Rocks have three dedicated staff working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the day-to-day running of the Rocks organisation. This includes anything from arranging daily venue hire for training, to providing away travel for the team, dealing with ticket requests and on-line merchandise orders, to mention only a few daily duties.

However without the help of the following volunteers the Glasgow Rocks organisation would not be what it is today. We could simply not function without the time and effort dedicated to the Rocks by the following people. In no particular order I would like you to join me in my thanks for the following:

Stephen Mathie, Official Rocks Photographer who travels to every away game, to give his support to the Rocks and provide valuable updates to everyone back home. Thanks also to Gordon Harper, who uploads the photos he takes at each home game to the Rocks Facebook page.

Duane Roft’s help has been invaluable in improving our Facebook and Twitter pages, and has helped us become the most liked team in the BBL on Facebook. He has also been instrumental in setting up our YouTube channel, along with making the highlight reels everyone loves to watch! Thanks also go the Allan Scouller for providing all the cameras required for the footage and all the extra highlight packages and Game tape that he has produced over the many seasons.

Our match night crew: Jenni, Courtney, Paul, Adam, Graeme, Ross, Shayron Anderson, Frank and Helen White, Mark, Debbie and Lauren Heenan have all dedicated themselves to helping the Rocks on game nights. This includes moving boxes, blowing up balls, selling merchandise and tickets, helping with mascots and, of course, mopping.

Huge thanks goes to Liz Reid who is responsible for all of the Rocks design-work. This includes posters, fliers and this Slate programme. She has also created fantastic pieces of Rocks artwork including the Sterling Davis Judgement Day image.

Thanks also goes to all the staff at the Kelvin Hall, they are responsible for setting up the court and the seats you are watching the game from. Their tireless efforts make everything possible on game days.

Praise also goes to our colleagues at Scottish Sports Futures who are responsible for the Jump2it schools programme as well as Twilight basketball. Their work is fundamental in spreading the word of basketball and the Rocks to children across Scotland.

A huge thank you to all the Sponsors who have been associated with the Rocks franchise this season. Without you we would not be able to function and we hope that you all decide to stay on for the next season.

Another Thank You must go to Mr and Mrs Reid whose contribution is immeasurable. Their dedication and devotion to the Rocks does not go unnoticed. Thanks to them there is a BBL team in Glasgow who year in year out compete in the top flight of British Basketball. Hats off to both of you.

Final thanks go to you, the fans. Without you the Rocks would be nothing. Your continued support every week, through the thick and thin, is phenomenal.
