The Scottish Rocks won in emphatic fashion tonight at Kelvin Hall, taking them to third place in the BBL championship table. The 86 - 68 win over London Capital was the Rocks third win in four games.
Bottom of the table London Capital matched the Rocks early in the match, tying the game at 22 in the second quarter. They just couldn't keep up with the on-fire Rocks who soared ahead in the third with Gareth Murray scoring three three-pointers in two and a half minutes.
Scotland international captain, Gareth Murray, led the scoring with 19 points whilst team mate Blake Shelton looked on from the bench having undergone surgery on a ruptured achilles tendon on Thursday.
With 2008/09 shaping up to be one of the tightest championship run-ins the BBL has seen in years, the Rocks will look to take a vital four points next weekend when they face Sheffield Sharks away on Friday and title contenders, Everton Tigers at Kelvin Hall on Sunday.
