The Glasgow Rocks are pleased to announce the date for the annual Glasgow Rocks Open try-outs. The date has been confirmed for the Tuesday, 18th August, and will take place at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre from 6pm until 10pm.
The Rocks will once again be on the look out for young and upcoming talent, and will hope to find some at these trials to fill important roster positions for the impending season. The session is open to any serious basketball players over the age of 18 who are willing and able to commit to practice and compete with the Rocks on a regular basis.
In addition to having an opportunity to play professionally for the Glasgow Rocks, the Rocks will also be on the look out for players to partake in the newly composed Player Development Program. This will introduce players into a possible Semi-Professional role within the Rocks Program. The Rocks will be hoping to collate a group of young and enthusiastic basketball players to assist in promoting basketball around Scotland with affiliate charity corporation Scottish Sports Futures, whilst also giving players the opportunity to gain invaluable basketball knowledge attending selected training sessions with the Professional Rocks team. There will be a briefing regarding the Rocks Player Development Program prior to the Open Trials at 6:00pm on the 18th August. We encourage anyone interested in the Player Development Program to attend this meeting to fully understand the opportunities that come with it.
