For the past 3 seasons, Sapp has been a regular starter for the highly rated Georgetown Hoyas. Last year Sapp started every game as he helped lead the Hoyas to consecutive BIG EAST Regular Season Championships.
He averaged 9.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists, shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and hitting a career-high 62 three-pointers, the sixth-best mark in a single season at Georgetown.
Rocks player/coach Sterling Davis is impressed by the young American's physical presence and ability and believes he can make a real impact on the BBL stage:
"Jesse is a very athletic strong guard that I feel I will be able to utilise at both the one and two positions. He is a very intelligent player who has a knack for making things happen on the floor."
Davis is looking forward to Sapp's arrival in Glasgow and hopes that his success in college basketball in the US will carry on into the BBL:
"With his background in the game, we will be getting a great competitor who knows what it takes to win. We are definitely looking forward to getting him here."
The first chance to see Sapp and his new team mates in action will be on Monday 21st September at the official pre-season launch of the Glasgow Rocks (7.00pm, Kelvin Hall). The Rocks tip-off the new season later that week on Sunday 27th September with the visit of BBL rivals Newcastle Eagles.
