ROCKS REPORT [return]

Well, it’s been a busy summer and we know that you’ve all been patiently waiting for more info. While you’ve seen very little from us lately, there has certainly been a lot going on. Read on for the quick and dirty update.

[b]The Team[/b]
As you know, only Sterling and Rob have been confirmed to wear the Rocks vest this season… which is fast approaching. You’ve probably read that we’ve been in talks with both Gareth and JJ, and we hope to conclude those deals soon. To round out the core of the squad, Sterling is talking to a number of players/agents and several look promising. We can’t give you any names yet, but we’re sure you’ll be excited once you see them on the court and get to know them.

Additionally, Sterling is working with BasketballScotland and several of the top amateur clubs about how we might incorporate the best young Scottish talent into the side. Look for more details on this by the end of the month.

[b]Pre-Season Games[/b]
As we did last year, we’re hoping to play the USA Select team again this year at Kelvin Hall. We have tentatively reserved Tuesday 11th September for this game and we hope to confirm details in the next week. Sterling is also talking to the top amateur clubs in Scotland about a variety of games that we will confirm in early September.

[b]Web Site[/b]
I’m sure you’ve noticed that there have been very few updates to the Rocks Web site lately. This is due to the fact that we are in the process of moving to a new Web host and designer. We are very excited about our new Web partner as well as some new sponsorship news that will help bring an all new Rocks site to life very soon. Look for an announcement on Tuesday (21st). In addition to a new look, the new site will also include several new features including:

* On-line ticket purchasing
* On-line merchandise purchasing
* Game day photo gallery
* Improved player, staff and crew profiles
* Rocks history
* Player Blogs
* Kids Zone
* More!

[b]Tickets – Rocks & GB[/b]
As you know, we have had to slightly raise our season ticket prices for the upcoming season. Many of you took advantage of the early bird offer and got your 2007/08 Rocks season ticket at or below last year’s prices. For any of you paying the full current price (Adults £130, Child £75), you are entitled to a complementary ticket for the upcoming GB v. Albania game at Meadowbank on Saturday 1st September. If you’ve already purchased your full-price season ticket, just call the office to claim your ticket. If you are still waiting to purchase your season ticket, now is the time! Just send in your booking form and payment by Friday the 24th to claim your free ticket (1 free GB ticket per Rocks season ticket).

Note: Additional tickets for the GB-Albania game on Saturday 1 September are available through the Rocks office for £5 each.

[b]Supporters – we need you![/b]
The Rocks Supporters Club is up and running with several eager fans stepping up to volunteer in several areas. The Supporters Club will also be electing a president and other officers just after the start of the season. Meanwhile, if you can help in any of these areas, please let us know:
