All females (stereotypically the “fairer sex”) will receive a free chocolate upon entry and will be entered in a draw to be presented with flowers by the Rocks players at the end of the game. The winner’s photo will be proudly posted on the Rocks Web site after the game.
Just to be sure we don’t discriminate, all males who are “man-enough” to do the right thing, will also have a special opportunity at the Rocks game. The fabulous Rockettes pro dancers will roam the Arena to reward boys and men with a chocolate of their own as they may also enter a draw to win a basketball signed by the full Rocks squad.
The game on Wednesday is an important one for coach Sterling Davis and the Rocks. It has been an odd start to the season as the Braehead side have won two games by a combined margin of 79 points while dropping three games by a total of just 13. Davis is eager to get securely on the winning track and begin a climb up the BBL table.
The Rocks’ Texan leader seems confident the tide will turn,
"We're playing well, he said. “We're playing tough defence and our offence is balanced. We just need to finish a little stronger. It's just a matter of fine-tuning a few things now. All of our losses have been close ones, and that's tough to take, but I know the wins will come."
Wednesday’s clash is the 4th in eight days for the Rocks and another follows on Sunday (home v. Everton Tigers). With three games remaining this month, the Rocks hope to improve on their 7th place position in the table and close the six-point gap between the Scots and League leaders Sheffield Sharks. Davis and crew have reason to be optimistic as they pushed the Sharks to the limit in a 3-point away loss on the opening day of this young season.
A little “Lady Luck” just might help start a winning streak Wednesday night.
