Rocks can't keep up with the Wolves [return]

Rocks slump to first defeat of 2010!!

ROCKS 75 - 90 WOLVES

Worcester Wolves - Middleton 27, Disy 26, Gilbert 13
Glasgow Rocks - Sapp 26, Davis 13, Yanders 11

The Rocks lost their winning form Saturday Night when they went down to a Red Hot Wocester Wolves side who produced a barnstorming performance to overwhelm the Glasgow Rocks and keep themselves in touching distance of the playoff positions.

A 30-8 second quarter provided the bedrock for the win, which sees them move closer to Guildford Heat in ninth as they bid for a top eight position.

Rocks had led 20-15 at the end of the first quarter, but by half time they trailed 45-28 and despite reducing the arrears to 62-52 at the end of the third quarter it was Worcester who pulled away during the final stanza.

Wolves coach Paul James was delighted with his team’s performance. He said: “I’m thrilled beyond words about our victory. We were due a win after losing several close games. Tonight we put it together and concentrated so much better than the last two matches.

“Our defence in the second quarter was the key for us. Tonight we saw our shots go in rather than hit the rim. It is a morale boost and puts us in good heart for a tough match with Marshall MK Lions on Tuesday.”

The Rocks will now be looking forward to their next Home Game which is Scheduled for the 7th February, against Player of the Month Reggie Bratton, and his in-form Worthing Thunder.

It's all to play for, and Kelvin Hall is expected to be near capacity for this clash of the titans. Make sure you go online and book your tickets now to avoid any dissapointment.
