Rocks Tame the Lions for the third time this season [return]

Rocks tame the hapless Lions 119-90....

Whilst the Marshall MK Lions poor form continued as they await the return of American duo EJ Harrison and Frank Holmes to full fitness, the Rocks picked up a handy win to put them on 38 points and consolidate their third spot in the BBL Championship table.

An 8-20 start for the visitors was then responded to by the Lions, as Craig Pringle's three pointer cut the gap to single digits at 11-20. However, two threes from Gareth Murray which led to an 11-26 Glasgow lead, formed the basis of a 13-40 first quarter scoreline, the springboard for an easy win, as the Rocks held the Lions scoreless for the rest of the period.

The Lions were subsequently down 38-69 at the half, despite only losing the period by three points, and by the time the third quarter had ended, the Rocks had romped to a 59-98 advantage, with the fourth quarter seeing them stretch this out to 90-119, a comfortable victory.

The winning side were led in scoring by a huge 39 points from Jessie Sapp, Michael Crowell scored 20 points and Mike Copeland chipped in 17 points as the Rocks recorded an emphatic victory without stalwart Rob Yanders. For the home team, Yorick Williams was the leading light with 22 points, Dawud Morris scored 19 points and both Maximillion Simon and Robert Youngblood added 16 points.
