SEPT 11 - USA Select Game Confirmed as well as Junior Basketball Clinic to be run by the USA Squad. [return]

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the start of the 2010/11 Glasgow Rocks Basketball Season and to commemorate the start of the new BBL season, the Glasgow Rocks professional basketball team will playing a pre-season trial game against a travelling USA Select team.

This much anticipated pre-season fixture will take place on the 11th of September, Saturday at 3:00pm. This date also coincides with the 9th anniversary of the September 11 tragedy which occurred in New York in 2001. To commemorate this event the Rocks will be donating a portion of the Ticket proceeds to charity.

The Pre-season game will allow fans to see the New Look Glasgow Rocks squad that will take the court for the first time before their Home Season Opener against the Newcastle Eagles on the 19th September. It will also be the first chance for you to see the Rocks suited up in their new look 2010/11 Team kit, which will be on sale at the event. Be the first to get your hands on the new kit.

In addition to the showcase event the Rocks along with Glasgow Life and the USA Team will be hosting a youth basketball coaching session that will be taking place pre-game on the Rocks home court. Players from the USA Select squad will put youngsters through their paces in a fun and friendly environment. Boys and girls of all abilities are invited to take part in the session which will run from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. The cost for the clinic is just £5 which includes entry to the Main Event that follows.
