The Rocks have almost completed their roster for the 2010/11 BBL Season with the signing of American/Greek player Nick Livas. The 66 guard/forward will be coming to Glasgow on the back of a successful season at Tromso Storm (Norway-BLNO), where he averaged 11.6ppg, 6.9rpg, 2.7apg, 1.3spg, FGP: 55.4%, 3PT: 27.0%, FT: 51.9%.
Livas should be a vital acquisition to the Rocks line-up as he is renowned for his rebounding abilities and soft touch inside the paint. He is a very long and athletic player that also has a good perimeter shot and handling skills.
Rocks player/coach Sterling Davis hopes Livas will provide the Rocks with some on-court intensity, as well as some versatility, with Livas more than capable of playing inside or outside.
Nick is that guy you use to do whatever needs done. He is a very hard worker on the floor and always plays with a high intensity. He is able to mix it up inside and outside which always bodes well in our league.
Livas will be looking to further his basketball career in Glasgow after playing for Tromso Storm in Norway.
He spent last season in Norway and put up very solid numbers. In speaking to him, he is more than excited to bring his talent to Glasgow.
Your first chance to see Nick Livas and the rest of Rocks will be on the 11th September, when the Rocks go up against a visiting USA Select Team at Kelvin Hall at 3:00pm. Tickets for this event are currently on sale at www.glasgowrocks.co.uk.
