Rocks Win as Murray Shines for Scotland [return]

The SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks fought off a second half surge by the Scotland Select squad at Braehead Arena Sunday night to win by 83-57.

Rocks regular Gareth Murray pulled on the Scotland strip tonight and led his country with 17 points. However it wasn’t enough as Moritz Wohlers led the Rocks with 21. Maurice “Squeaky” Hampton added 14 and co-captain Julius Joseph 12.

The Rocks now turn their attention to the BBL Cup semi-final on Saturday (15 Jan) when they travel to Crawley’s K2 Arena to take on the Newcastle Eagles. The Eagles currently sit atop the BBL table, but were soundly beaten by the Rocks just a week ago.

The Rocks were BBL Cup finalists last season and aim to better that finish by raising the Cup as champions on 13 January in Birmingham.
