The Glasgow Rocks were never in the hunt in this evenings fixture, even though they were heavily favoured to bring home a win.
The first five minutes saw the Rocks only register 2 points, unfortunately it was a sign of things to come. The Mersey Tigers ended the first quarter with a comfortable 20-13 lead and they continued to effortlessly sweep past the Rocks for the remainder of the first half, as the Rocks seemed to self destruct shooting at a measly 27% from the field and trailing 47-34 by half time.
With the Rocks facing a 13 point deficit coming into the 2nd half, there was still an air of expectancy that the Rocks would come out victorious. However, that was quickly put to rest, as it was the Tigers who came out with the ferocity and the energy that was expected from the Rocks. The Mersey side scored the first 10 points of the 2nd half which effectively killed off any hope of a Rocks revival.
As the home side continued to try and at least make the final score-line a tad more respectable, Tigers still thoroughly enjoyed the last quarter and cruised to a landmark victory, 89-75.
The Rocks will now have to endure the most difficult road trip of the BBL season, as they embark on a journey down south playing Leicester Riders and Plymouth raiders on the 28th and 29th of January.
The Rocks next Home Game on the 5th February will be a SKY Sports televised fixture against the Guildford Heat. Tickets are currently available for this all important fixture as the Rocks try to get back to winning ways.
