Player/coach Sterling Davis led the way with 24 points for the Braehead side while Moritz Wohlers added 21 and Maurice “Squeaky” Hampton 15. Davis talked about the importance of the win.
"We took a big step forward tonight with this win. We came out a little sluggish in the first minutes of the game, but we turned that around quickly and moved forward finishing the half up 16.
"The pivotal point for us was in the second half. The lead was cut to only 2 but we never put our heads down and never gave up our lead. We continued to fight and were able to put a little more cushion between us and Guildford.
"Our defence was excellent when we needed it and everyone played a huge part in the win.
"Since our exit from the Trophy, we are really focused on pushing for title contention and this was definitely a step in the right direction."
The win moves the Rocks to within 6 points of League leaders Newcastle Eagles whom the Rocks recently defeated by 100-78.
The Rocks next return home for another BBL Championship match on Wednesday night at Braehead Arena when they will take on London Capital. Tip-off is 7:30pm (doors 6:30).
