Rocks boss Sterling Davis knows that good fortune must now be taken to heart as the Braehead boys look to continue their march toward the BBL title.
“We now know what to expect from this London team. We know that they are a very underrated and they will come in with a high energy level defensively. We have to make sure we either match them or take it one step higher. Our defence from the opening jump ball will determine the way and outcome of the game.
“They will definitely be up for the game and judging from our practices this week, we should be too. It will take another full 40 minute effort from the Rocks.”
The Rocks currently hold 4th position in the BBL table which would earn them a home quarterfinal playoff game if they hold that position through April 20th. However, with 13 games remaining in the season, all eyes are still on the BBL title.
Maurice “Squeaky” Hampton, the Rocks shooting guard and one of the League’s top offensive threats, agrees with Davis’ focus on defence.
"We’ve been having some of our most intense practices ever this week, really focusing on our defence. Our tough team defence is what has been helping us win games lately and we need to keep that same approach on Sunday. Our goals involve championships, but we’re just taking things one game at a time, and if we do that everything else will fall into place," Hampton said.
