Standing at 6ft 8″, the forward of both British and Australian heritage will certainly add some vertical presence to the Rocks’ roster.
Thomas is a graduate of Western Oregon University, and during his time with the Wolves he notched up an average of 7 points per game.
Prior to his time with the Wolves, Thomas played with the University of California Santa Barbara, as well as graduating from the Australian Institute of Sport in his homeland – famed for creating such sportsmen as footballer Mark Viduka, cricketer Ricky Ponting and track cyclist Anna Meares.
Coach Sterling Davis has high hopes for the 24 year old:
“I am super excited to have Lewis on board. He is a young, very fundamentally sound player with a high Basketball IQ. He will bring length and versatility to our front court which is a huge plus.”
Thomas arrives at the Emirates with international experience in his locker, having been part of the Australia squad which competed at the 2011 under-19 World Championship.
