Watson joins the Rocks following a two-year stint with the Leicester Riders, where he was rated among the best in the league for his position.
In his debut season he led the BBL in terms of assists, averaging an impressive 7.9 per game. The University of Southern Mississippi graduate will bring competition to the Rocks line-up, and adds a touch of class in the effort to bring the BBL title to Scotland.
Coach Sterling Davis was openly delighted to safeguard Watson’s signature:
“Neil is a proven winner and performer in our league. He was right at the top of the league in his position so we are extremely excited to be able get him on board. This is a very important position on any team in which case I feel he fits that mould.”
Watson has big game experience, and will be hoping to appear in successive finals following Leicester’s defeat in the 2016 Play-Off Championship match.
Watson netted 19 points in that fixture, and has made the move north hoping to go one step further this time:
“I’m happy to be a part of the Glasgow Rocks family, extremely excited to start the season and also can’t wait to compete for silverware this year.”
Famed for his high-tempo, aggressive style of play, Rocks fans can expect big things from a player who was a fans’ favourite in Leicester.
