Rocks extinguish the Scorchers at home

Coming off a win in Plymouth two nights earlier, Rocks returned to the Emirates Sunday night to take down a traveling Surrey Scorchers squad 103-76 at home.

Surrey would start off the game hot as Josh Steel and Quincy Taylor combined for 10 early points. This lead would be short lived however as Rocks cut into Surrey’s lead, giving themselves a 20-16 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.

In what was a 30-point 2nd quarter, Rocks continued to pull away in the second, with Bo Zeigler scoring 9 of his 12 points for the game just before halftime. As both teams went to the locker room Rocks lead Scorchers 50-41.

Coming out of halftime, Rocks came out raring to go as Greg Pryor knocked down three triples to put Rocks up 61-49.

Bouna Ndiaye who had been consistent all game, scoring 20 10 points so far in the game then found a gap in the defence, gliding inside for the two-handed dunk.

The fourth quarter was more of the same as Rocks continued to build on their lead. Murray Hendry checked into the game for the second time this season and went 2-2 for his first points in the BBL.

As the final buzzer sounded, Rocks came away as victors winning 103-76. Bouna Ndiaye lead the way in the scoring column with 20 points with Greg Pryor adding 17 and Bo Zeigler adding 12. Kieron Achara and Gareth Murray also had 11 points a-piece.

Rocks now have a break from BBL action for an international break and will be back on the court on the 9th of December when they face London City Royals at Crystal Palace.

Rocks are next at home on December 21st against the Worcester Wolves. Get your tickets now here.
