Rocks move to 4th in BBL after win over Riders

Rocks claimed their 6th win in a row under Coach Lavandier on Sunday night when they defeated the Leicester Riders 89-77.

As Rocks started the game, it was all Kenny Carpenter in the 1st as he knocked down 13 points in the opening minutes. Leicester had the upper hand in the quarter however, outscoring Rocks 23-25.

Rocks fought back in the second quarter, quickly taking a 2-point lead and sustaining it throughout the quarter. Ali Fraser would also add 8 points in the quarter to bring the score to 56-50 at the end of the half.

In a stunning display of defence, Rocks managed to keep the Riders to just 10 points in the third quarter. This allowed them to capitalise and take a double-digit lead into the final quarter.

Rocks would stand fast in the final quarter, outscoring the visitors 19-17 to take the 89-77 win and secure 4th place in the BBL standings.

Kenny Carpenter finished with a game-high 23 points, with Greg Pryor, Ali Fraser and Tadas Rinkunas all adding 11 points each.

Rocks next game will see them travel to face the Sheffield Sharks on Wednesday night, followed by returning home next Sunday to face the Bristol Flyers. Tickets for that game can be purchased here.
