Rocks prepare for rematch with Lions

In their first matchup since their BBL Cup Final clash, Rocks face another difficult matchup with the top of the league London Lions when they arrive at the Emirates this Sunday.

Rocks are yet to tame the Lions this season having lost every time they’ve met this year – twice in the league, as well as in the BBL Cup Final. Rocks will have their work cut out dealing with Lions’ interior presence and skilled guard play.

High flying American Ladarius Tabb has been running riot in the BBL since he joined the Lions this season. The small forward has a knack of getting into the paint and has been posting averages of 19 points and 9 rebounds per game so far this season.

Rocks also struggled with the interior presence of Americans Brandon Peel and Kevin Bristol in their last game. Peel has the ability to draw forwards out of the paint with his efficient jumper causing nightmares for opposing forwards. Meanwhile, Bristol locks down the paint for the Lions, making it extremely difficult for anyone driving inside.

British point guard and last year’s BBL MVP, Justin Robinson has also been having another standout year for the Lions, averaging the 3rd most points in the league at 19ppg while also averaging 4.8 assists and shooting 38% from behind the three-point line.

Rocks have a big task ahead of them when Lions return to the Emirates. However, a win will make a huge impact in Rocks push for a Playoff spot!

As ever, we need all of the support we can get from our fans come Sunday night!

Limited tickets are still available for Sunday’s game at the Box Office on a first come, first serve basis.
